Chiropractic (M.Sc.)

Combining theory and practice while working

Chiropractic is a philosophy, science and art of natural things. Dresden International University offers the part-time* course “Chiropractic” as both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree. The course provides comprehensive basic medical knowledge as well as basic and specialist knowledge of chiropractic and enables students to apply chiropractic safely and effectively, thus setting themselves apart from the many therapists with little training available today.

After completing the part-time Master's degree course in Chiropractic, students have comprehensive knowledge of the relationship between theory and practice. They are familiar with the state of the art and can apply chiropractic techniques with confidence. In addition, students will acquire skills and abilities in the areas of practice and quality management, an understanding of the causality between chiropractic treatment and other medical disciplines, how to deal with different patient groups and aspects of public health.

The basics taught in the Bachelor's degree program can be related to the current state of research and other medical disciplines in the Master's degree program, and the existing knowledge can be meaningfully expanded for the practice and application of chiropractic work.

Further legal regulations may have to be observed for practicing the profession. The degree alone does not constitute a license to practice.

*Including weekend days

Target group

Graduates of the DIU Bachelor's degree program “Chiropractic”.
Prospective students with an equivalent vocationally qualifying degree from a university of applied sciences or university as part of a generally four-year degree program, or with a degree equivalent to 240 credit points from a foreign educational institution.

Cooperation & network

The chiropractic courses are offered in cooperation with the Chiropractic Academy and the European Chiropractic Academy at the locations in Bad Oeynhausen and Eindhoven, Netherlands (practical seminars).

More Information

The cooperation provides the opportunity to access the specialist and personnel expertise of the partners, which has been incorporated into the development and advancement of the degree programs. Teaching and practice rooms of the cooperation partners, including the necessary equipment and materials, can be used for the entire DIU study program. This enables a direct theory-practice transfer of the content taught and ensures the application orientation of the course content. These cooperations have also proven their worth with regard to marketing and sales of the degree programs. The overall formal and academic responsibility (overall academic and administrative management, coordination, quality assurance and evaluation, etc.) as well as the sponsorship of all degree programs is the responsibility of DIU.

Students are exclusively enrolled in DIU degree programs and only acquire credits in these degree programs, which are offered in cooperation with the listed partner. They are involved in the academic self-administration of DIU and the use of DIU resources and have the same rights as all other DIU students.

Another partner of the degree program is the Bund deutscher Chiropraktiker e.V.
