International knowledge transfer through the Deutschlandstipendium at DIU

03. July 2026

Thanks to a scholarship, student Rebaone Phuti is advancing his expertise in the master’s program "Advanced Materials Characterization and Non-Destructive Testing (M.Sc.)"

Financial support for committed students is a key driver of international academic exchange. Rebaone Phuti is one of these dedicated talents. Originally from Botswana, he has been supported by the Deutschlandstipendium and our sponsor Westinghouse since fall 2025.

His path to Dresden International University came with challenges. Although he successfully completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at the Botswana University of Science and Technology in 2020, the economic conditions in his home country following the pandemic made studying abroad difficult. With strong discipline and the confirmation of the Deutschlandstipendium, he was finally able to achieve his goal in 2025.

He is currently studying in the master’s program Advanced Material Characterization and Non-Destructive Testing at DIU. After graduation, he plans to use his expertise as a pioneer in this field in Botswana. His goal is to advance key sectors such as aircraft maintenance and infrastructure projects.

Our special thanks go to Westinghouse. As a sponsor of the Deutschlandstipendium, the company makes this important academic and professional development possible.

Are you an international student interested in this opportunity? The Deutschlandstipendium is open to talents worldwide; the primary requirement is that you are enrolled in a study program at a German university and maintain a residence in Germany.
