Through the Deutschlandstipendium, Dresden International University (DIU) provides financial support to students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and motivation. Recipients receive €300 per month for at least one year, with funding shared equally between the German federal government and private sponsors. Beyond financial security, the scholarship offers valuable professional connections and exclusive access to DIU's active sponsor network, potentially opening doors to new career opportunities.
We would like to introduce three students whose professional backgrounds and personal journeys reflect the diversity of our university.
Daniel Altehoff is pursuing a Master's degree in Fire Safety Engineering (M.Eng.), having previously earned a Bachelor's degree in Rescue Engineering. He currently works as a fire safety specialist at DB InfraGO AG, where his responsibilities include supporting major railway station redevelopment projects. Outside of work, he serves as a unit leader with the volunteer fire department. Daniel demonstrates exceptional commitment in balancing his studies, professional responsibilities, volunteer service, and family caregiving duties. The Deutschlandstipendium provides valuable support as he continues to manage these demanding commitments.
Silke Sutor has worked in dentistry for more than 30 years and remains passionate about her profession. She began her career as a dental administrative assistant and continued to develop her qualifications, eventually becoming a dental prophylaxis assistant. Her decision to pursue a degree in Dental Hygiene (B.Sc.) at DIU reflects her commitment to professional development and securing her long-term career prospects. Her university experience is particularly special because she is studying alongside her daughter, Maxi.
Mustafa Alsaeid is originally from Syria and has lived in Germany since 2020. He is a licensed physician currently completing his neurology residency at Rehaklinik Hetzdorf, where he cares for numerous patients with multiple sclerosis. His decision to pursue the Master's program in Multiple Sclerosis Management (M.Sc.) at DIU stems from his desire to improve patient care through advanced specialist knowledge. During his time in Syria, Mustafa also spent several years volunteering with medical organizations, leading healthcare projects and helping establish first-aid clinics in rural communities.
