Interview of DIU Alumni Vivek Mony:

What did you study at DIU and when did you graduate? What motivated you to study at that time?

I studied MBA Logistics Management at DIU and graduated in 2025. My motivation was to gain deeper knowledge in my field and to build a strong foundation for my future career.

What (three) wishes or expectations did you have of your studies - and in retrospect, what perhaps even positively surprised you?

My three wishes were to gain strong theoretical knowledge, develop practical skills, and connect with inspiring mentors. What positively surprised me was the supportive learning environment and the opportunities for personal growth beyond academics.

Is there an experience or a topic from your studies that still shapes you today? Something that you use again and again or that has particularly influenced your career path?

Yes, the emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving during my studies still shapes me today. I use these skills regularly in my career to analyze challenges and find effective solutions.

To what extent do the contacts from your student days still play a role today - professionally or personally? Is there an encounter or a network that was particularly valuable for you?

Some of the contacts from my student days still support me both professionally and personally. Building a network with classmates and professors has been especially valuable, as it opened doors to collaboration and guidance in my career.

What skills, attitudes or competencies - so-called “future skills” - would you pass on to today's students? What has proven to be particularly helpful for you in practice?

I would encourage students to develop adaptability, teamwork, and digital literacy as essential future skills. In practice, a problem-solving mindset and effective communication have proven especially helpful for me.
