The admissions round for our NDT Master Course starting autumn 2019 has been opened again since March 15th 2019 and will be closed for this year’s intake by June 30th 2019. Students applying for this fully English taught course must have an internationally accepted over average bachelor degree or higher in an engineering, physics, computer science or possibly other natural science discipline and prove a proficiency in English language skills of at least an IELTS 6.0 level.
Applicants meeting the acceptance criteria will be invited to a personal interview (mainly online), along which the final decision of acceptance will be made. The highly demanding course lasts two years. After a year of intense studies of the physical fundamentals as well as the theoretical background of the different acoustics, electromagnetics and optics based NDT techniques, the students take part in the accredited DGZfP BC course in their second year before moving into a research placement for 3 months followed by a master thesis lasting around 6 months. The BC course allows the student to move later straight to a Level 3 in an NDT technique of choice.
The research placement as well as the master thesis are due to be run outside DIU with either an academic or an industrial organisation, provided the organisation can offer a research topic of adequate high scientific value. Collaborations between academia and industries are possible. Students applying from abroad, specifically from outside the EU are recommended to apply as early as possible to avoid any visa constraints.
