Important information for students and staff (Status: 29.10.20)

Dear students, employees and partners,

due to the current situation and the rapid speed with which the Covid 19 virus spreads, we would like to inform you about the current protection regulations at Dresden International University and the World Trade Center.

Until further notice:

  1. In order to ensure the tracking of infections, DIU collects the following personal data of those persons who use the premises of DIU: Name, telephone number or e-mail address, postal code of the home address and the period of the visit. DIU will collect these data, protected from access by third parties, and will keep them for the duration of one month after the end of the specific stay for use by the authorities responsible under the Corona protection regulations and then delete them. The data collected for this purpose will not be used for any other purposes.
  2. The mouth-nose cover (MNC) must be worn in closed rooms until the seat is reached. Wearing the MNC also applies to the atrium and the underground car park in the World Trade Center now.
  3. From now on, it is mandatory to wear a MNC also outdoors on the atrium forecourt.
  4. The AHA regulations must be observed. (Keep a distance (keep 1.5 to 2 meters away from other people (also in elevators and stairwells), observe hygiene rules (cough or sneeze into the crook of your arm, wash your hands thoroughly, avoid touching when greeting people), ventilate rooms regularly and thoroughly)

We appeal to all students, lecturers and employees of DIU to adhere to the regulations both for the protection of their personal health and out of responsibility towards others. Thank you for your understanding.

The aim is to conduct scheduled attendance events during the winter semester as planned. It depends on all of us whether we can succeed in this. Please help us!

Best wishes and stay healthy.

Important information for students and staff (Status: 10.09.20)

Dear students, employees and partners,

the challenging but also very instructive summer semester 2020 is now almost behind us. Autumn begins and with it the winter semester 2020/2021.

For us, health is still our top priority. That is why we will continue to guarantee safety distances in our seminar rooms in the World Trade Center. Wearing the the face mask in the building is mandatory, especially in elevators and corridors and for all your activities where the safety distance of 1.50m cannot be maintained. Disinfectant is available in the access areas on each floor. Sufficient ventilation is provided in the seminar rooms.

Based on the Corona Protection Ordinance of the Free State of Saxony dated July 14, 2020 (https://www.coronavirus.sachsen.de/download/SMS-Corona-Schutz-Verordnung-2020-07-14.pdf), especially the safety distance, not all courses can take place in DIU. A lot of program content can be reproduced well digitally. Since the beginning of the Corona Pandemic the lecturers, students and employees of DIU have been able to gain a lot of experience with digital tools. With Adobe Connect and MS-Teams, we offer two platforms that function stably and enable teaching and learning in virtual space. The respective course managers als well as the study organization will be happy to support you.

In this context, our digitization officer, Ms. Uhlemann, is available at sandra.uhlemann@di-uni.de to answer all your questions and provide information on digital teaching and learning.

All courses will take place as planned and as much as possible on site. Teaching will be guaranteed as fully as possible. Should there be any changes, you will receive appropriate information on DIU website or via email.

Prospective students and applicants can apply for their desired course of study on a regular basis. The colleagues of the study programs will be happy to advise you.

Best regards

Prof. Dr. Richard H. W. Funk (President ) and Prof. Dr. Joachim Niemeier (Managing Director)

Important information for students and staff (Status: 31.03.20)

Dear students, employees and partners,

the Corona virus has Germany firmly in its grip. Our most important concern in these times is to maintain the teaching activities of Dresden International University for our students as far as possible.

In the last two weeks, many courses have therefore been moved to digital environments. Even exams can partly be taken online. This ensures a normal continuation of teaching in almost all courses of study.

The attendance courses will continue to be suspended until 04.05.20.

Prospective students and applicants can continue to apply for their desired course of study. The colleagues of the study programs will be happy to advise you via telephone or email.

Some of the planned study starts for spring 2020 have unfortunately to be postponed to a start in autumn or spring 2021. You will find corresponding information on the pages of the respective degree programs.

Stay healthy

Important information for students and staff (Status: 18.03.20)

Dear students, employees and partners,

Due to the current situation, Dresden International University is ceasing all face-to-face courses until 27.04.20. We are working on offering digital teaching and learning formats in selected areas at short notice. The responsible course manager will inform you regularly about this.

Personal consultation hours are not offered for the time being. All DIU employees will now work from their home office to contain the spread of the virus through work routes and contact with colleagues. All requests by phone or email will be processed as before without any restrictions.  All employees can be reached as usual.

We would like to ask all potential students and applicants to regularly inform themselves about the study possibilities and to get advice - preferably by email or telephone.

With these measures, the management of DIU wants to prevent a further spread of the corona pandemic. We therefore ask for your understanding!
